Career Strategy Tips for Swish & Legacy
A few decisions early on shape the whole career. These tips will help you build a player who lasts.
Build the player before the career
Choose your position and your playing style with intent. Pick a style that boosts the attributes your position already relies on if you want a polished specialist, or one that covers a weak spot if you prefer a balanced player. Your nationality also decides which academies make you an offer, so look at the options before you commit.
Pick clubs for the right reasons
Each offer is a trade-off. A strong club gives you titles and exposure but may limit your numbers; a smaller club gives you a bigger role and bigger stats. Early in your career, minutes and development matter more than a famous badge. Once you are a star, you can chase rings.
Use league difficulty to your advantage
Because the rating stays the same everywhere, an easier league lets you post huge numbers and build a reputation. A tougher league keeps your stats modest but makes the title you win there worth more. Mix both across the years.
Think in long arcs
- Years 14–18: development. Do not worry about trophies; get the best path for your growth.
- Early twenties: establish yourself and aim for the leagues that match your OVR.
- Prime (mid to late twenties): this is when awards and championships pile up.
- After 30: decline is gradual. Stay at a good club, keep the rating high and add the final honours.
Play for the achievements
Setting a personal goal makes each career more interesting: winning a title on both sides of the ocean, going an entire career at one club, or averaging a triple-double for a season. Browse the full achievement list and pick one to chase.
